The two logos, above, were made in Illustrator. They are for my show "Good Vibes." I combined colors, shapes, and fonts to make the logos.
Tessellations: I designed my Tessellations by using Illustrator. I used basic shapes to create a more complex shape. I was influenced by geometry for this project. I was given a blank canvas and was told to just go for it.  I started out by laying out the pentagons. I made them 1inx1in, so that they laid equally on the 5inx7in artboard. I decided on a tip to tip design so that it would create a diamond layout, as well. The diamonds in my project are part of the “background” layer and were not created by me, but how the pentagons arranged themselves. After locking down my pentagons, I then needed to decide on a second shape for the layer above. I initially drew out large circles that emphasized the bigger pentagons that were made from the small pentagons. After I couldn’t get them to line up with the size of the artboard, I tried squares. I didn’t like how it looked, so I went back to circles. I switched my tactic and focused, instead of on the pentagons, but on the diamonds. I put the circles around each diamond as an outline to draw the eyes to each one. The final layer was the squares. I put the squares in between each circle. To create a 3D effect, I increased the stroke of the square outline to 3pt. This made the squares pop due to their enlarged thickness. The final touch was to add color. I knew I wanted to rows of pentagons to have alternating color of blue and purple because those are my favorite colors. Also, they were going to be more neon colors because that’s what makes the design stand out.
